(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the Breezy Point North Stars at Marathon Park Ice Arena. This was the first game of a two-game series, also it was the first matchup between the RiverWolves and Mustangs for the 2017-2018 season.
The Wausau RiverWolves were only able to notch two goals in tonight’s matchup. Scoring Wausau’s first goal was Owen Routheut coming at the 2:42 mark in the first period with two assists coming from Austin Burgener and Matt Irwin. The second RiverWolves goal came at the 9:09 mark of the third period coming from Jacob Rudloff. Starting in goal tonight was Christian Sanzottera and he was replaced in the third period by Jackson Fazendin, the two of them stopped at total of 40 shots on the night.
The Wausau RiverWolves will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday January 13, to again take on the North Stars from Breezy Point at 7 p.m. for game two of the weekend series.
