WAUSAU, Wis.- Mitch Idalski’s hat-trick highlighted the RiverWolves 12 -1 win in game one of a three game weekend series vs the Evansville Jr. Thunderbolts Thursday Night at Marathon Park Ice Arena.
Rollie Carlson put the RiverWolves on the board early as he unleashed his first junior hockey goal at 1:29 into the first period, which was assisted by Garrett Alton. Jordan Tomaszewski made it 2-0 good guys after a scrum in front of the Evansville net. Alton extended the RiverWolves lead to 3-0 as he tallied his second goal of the season. Colin Brey and Tate Stansbury added the helpers.
Mitch Idalski netted his first RiverWolves hat trick at the 14:59 mark of the third. Alexander Gilev saved 19 of the 20 shots on the evening. While Evansville’s Noah Brandau saved 83 of the 95.
