(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the Wisconsin Whalers from Oregon, Wisconsin at Marathon Park on Friday Night.  The two teams met for the first time this season with the Whalers coming into the game in 3rd place in the Central Division.

Owen Routheut native of Feversham, Ontario was able to light the lamp three times tonight for his first career hat-trick with the RiverWolves.  Owen scored one goal at the end of the second at the 12:52 mark and the other two both coming in the 3rd period, less than 3 minutes apart.  Michael Alfonso got the scoring started for the RIverWovles in the first, Austin Burgener also notched his first goal of the year in the first.  Defenseman Ben Brown also got his first goal as a RiverWolf tonight. Connor Moore closed out the scoring with an empty netter, which capped off the 7-3 win.  Starting in goal tonight for Wausau was Jackson Fazendin, he was able to stop 36 shots against the Whalers, and netted his first career win in a RiverWolves uniform.

The Wausau RiverWolves continue their homestand tomorrow night as they take on the La Crosse Freeze and then face Wisconsin Whalers again on Sunday at Marathon Park.

The RiverWolves are back home December 8, 9 and 10. They will take on the Wisconsin Whalers December 8th and 10th. The La Crosse Freeze come to Wausau for the middle game of the weekend on Saturday Night. Puck drops at 7pm for all three games. Tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for kids!

RiverWolves Drop Second Straight Game Against North Iowa Bulls

(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves and North Iowa Bulls met at Marathon Park Ice Area Saturday night for game two of the weekend series.  North Iowa came into Saturday’s game in sole possession of first place in the Central Division with 35 points and with a record of 16-0-2-1.

The RiverWolves took their second loss in a row to Central Division leaders and rival’s the North Iowa Bulls from Mason City, Iowa.  The Bulls scored two goals in the first period one at the 1:10 mark and the other at the 19:36 mark.  Wausau’s lone goal also came in the first period of tonight’s game at the 12:51 mark.  Scoring for the RiverWolves was Matt Irwin who notched his 9th goal of the season.  In goal for the 2nd consecutive night was Hudson, Wisconsin native Henry Baribeau.  Henry had himself a career high night for shots on goal, stopping 57 out of 60 shots.

The Wausau RiverWolves hit the road next weekend to Mason City, Iowa to take on the North Iowa Bulls for another two game weekend series.  The RiverWolves will be back at home on December 8th 9th and 10th for an 3 game set, puck drops at 7pm all three nights.

RiverWolves Suffer 5-1 Loss to the North Iowa Bulls

(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves took on the North Iowa Bulls who have a strong record of 15-0 thus far into the young 2017-2018 season on Friday, November 24.  This was the first matchup between the two teams for the 2017-2018 season, also this was the first game of a two-game series, both games being played at Marathon Park Ice Arena.

The RiverWolves came into Friday’s game with a two-game winning streak after the team got their first two wins as an NA3HL franchise last weekend.  North Iowa was able to get the go-ahead goal at the end of the first period, the Bulls then scored two more unanswered in the second before the RiverWolves were able to get on the board.  Owen Routheut, native of Feversham, Ontario notched his fourth goal of the year at the 15:35 mark of the second period, assisting on the lone goal was Garrett Alton and Connor Moore.  North Iowa again was able to tack on two more goals in the third period, for a 5-1 final.  In goal for Wausau was Henry Baribeau who stopped 50 of 55 shots on the evening.

The Wausau RiverWolves will continue their homestand tomorrow Saturday, November 25th as they host the North Iowa Bulls for game two at Marathon Park Ice Arena. Puck drops at 7pm as the RiverWolves host the Triq’s Family 4 Pack promotional night.

RiverWolves Announce Roster

(Wausau, WI)- The Wausau RiverWolves have announced their roster for the 2017-2018 season. The roster includes eight Wisconsin natives in F Austin Burgener (Merrill), F Cody Gottfreid (Franklin), F Michael Alfonso (Wausau), F Tristan Slot (Kaukauna), F Garrett Alton (Racine), F Janne Rukamp (De Pere), D Ben Brown (Merrill), D Santana Pinkert (Green Bay) and G Henry Baribeau (Hudson).

The roster also features players from 6 other states including Colorado, Ohio, Wyoming, Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri. Forward Owen Routheut is the lone foreign-born player from Feversham, Ontario.

“Our roster is what junior hockey is about. We are developing and showcasing players from not only Wisconsin, but all over North America. We are a melting pot of hometowns, and really it creates life-long friendships. Now a Wisconsin guy, can go to Sheridan, WY to see a buddy or to skate over the summer. I love having players from all over,” Head Coach Tim Brownell said.

The RiverWolves will open their Inaugural Season Friday, October 13th at Marathon Park Ice Arena. Fans can be a part of all the excitement as season tickets are now on sale. Season Tickets are just $184 per seat or only $90 for a 10-Game Flex Plan.
